Finished Ph.D. in 2016. My research concerns alternative splicing regulation in normal and diseased tissues. I'm interested in studying the regulatory effect of cis-acting elements, such as the DNA's GC content, as well as trans-acting alternative splicing factors and epigenetic determinants on the splicing reaction. Seeing as alternative splicing has been strongly implicated in tumorigenesis, thriving to understand the complex mechanisms that govern transcriptomic aberrations in cancer is of the utmost importance and is a research focus of mine. |
